Marist only accepts the REALest
September 28, 2018
Thanks to the Eat Real Certification system and Marist Dining’s consistent standard of quality of food, the Murray Student Center Dining Hall once again obtained Responsible Epicurean and Agricultural Leadership (REAL) certification, placing the College’s ranking in the top 25% of restaurants/food service operations in the country for serving REAL food. In 2016, Marist College became the first in New York to receive the REAL certification. This recertification is an honor that requires the College’s dining services program to meet a number of criteria, including providing a vegetarian entrée on every menu, not selling beverages with sugar contents that exceed 50g, not promoting sweet beverage through combination promotions, elimination of hydrogenated oil when cookies, and serving entrées that provide a full serving of produce. This recognition demonstrates Marist Dining’s constant dedication to the authenticity and “real”ness of its food.
